The Best Ways to Use Raw Honey in Food

Raw unfiltered honey is an extremely versatile ingredient and an all-natural, healthier way to add a little bit of sweetness to a variety of dishes. These are just a few simple ideas for cooking with this incredible ingredient!

As a Sweetener

Add to drinks like teas, lemonades, and smoothies or drizzle over dishes like oatmeal and fruit salad to add a little bit of natural sweetness.

In a Salad Dressing

Whisk together equal parts raw honey and lemon juice with four parts vegetable or olive oil and season to taste with salt and pepper for a super quick dressing. Alternatively, replace the lemon juice with balsamic vinegar for a sweet and tangy vinaigrette. Add dijon mustard to either for more of a zesty kick.

In a Marinade/Glaze

Mix two parts raw honey with one part soy sauce and use as a marinade for chicken, pork chops, ham, ribs, shrimp, or salmon. Bake or pan fry for a sweet and sticky glaze. Experiment by adding flavors like lemon juice, dijon mustard, or garlic.

With Roasted Vegetables

Toss cut vegetables with two parts raw honey and one part olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and roast in the oven for a more complex side dish. This recipe works particularly well with root vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, beets, and parsnips.
